Michelino's Italian Restaurant
3615 Rutherglen St.El Paso, TX
(915) 592-1700
After a couple of visits I cannot say what the best items would be at this restaurant, but a waitress' suggestion of
Eggplant Parmigiana not only hit the spot, it is probably the best I've ever had. The eggplant is
non-greasy as it is at Bella Napoli, but here the sauce is better.
In addition, the marinera sauce on the Spaghetti side dish is some of the most delicious I've ever had.
It has all the flavor of Dominic's but without the heavy spices that may leave your stomach churning at night (I'm
not saying Dominic's will do this to you--only that it could if you are susceptible to such things).
One highlight of Michelino's is the Salad served free will dinner-- with the homemade dressing and ample
ingredients there is no need to pay extra for the Classic Salad.
A half order of eggplant parmigiana as well as several other popular dishes is available at a substantially
lower price, and for me it is much more than I can eat. By ordering the half order it barely pushes the prices into
the moderate ($$) range, so I would have to say this is easily the best Italian food value in El Paso.
Probably the low point of the restaurant is the garlic bread.
