When I wrote my original review of China Star it consisted of one paragraph, and there is not much to add at this point. China Star's claim to fame is having the largest Chinese buffet in the city, and the fact that it was "Voted Lubbock's Best Chinese Cuisine 4 Years In A Row" (it is not clear who voted for it or how many years ago the vote transpired).

This pretty much tells you what to expect-- mediocre buffet food with lots of meat, syrup, and of course, a "Complimentary Ice Cream Bar." In 2003 I was not very knowledgeable about seeking out more authentic Chinese dishes from the menu, but the food I tried was not very good even for standard Americanized dishes.
